Fairewinds Energy Education is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2008. Our mission is to educate the public about nuclear power and other energy issues.

We have designed our website to be a hub for fact-based, unbiased nuclear energy information. Fairewinds’ website features podcasts and videos, in which we collaborate with experts in wide ranging fields to discuss nuclear energy issues.

On our website you’ll also find blog posts on current events, expert witness reports on nuclear safety issues, frequently asked questions (FAQs) about nuclear power, a nuclear book list, archives of our presentations, media coverage, newsletters, and much more. Thanks to our dedicated volunteer translators, our content is available in four languages.

Our work is supported by grants and by many small individual donations from people around the world who believe in our work as much as we do. The Fairewinds Team works hard to demystify nuclear power through education.

I am grateful for the high caliber of information provided to the public through Fairwinds Energy Education. I pray that support through greater financial abundance will swiftly come their way. It is amazing to me what they have been ble to accomplish on a shoe string budget. May their good works be greatly amplified with more robust finacial backing.

One of the very, very few sources of untwisted information about the nuclear power industry.

All your work and contributions much appreciated……and yet still the UK and French govts are pursuing the idea of a new Hinkley Point reactor despite the money, the lack of a repository and the knowledge of how to dispose of nuclear wastes, the flawed steel cap, the EU subsidies (under challenge), the increased costs to consumers and the way in which such investment makes it harder to make the transition to renewable energy…….but then there’s fracking about to be unleashed as well

Very good work thank u all for the true and warings to the public and the risk

Nothing will likely happen until a really serious event occurs. Something that destroys a large area of this country. It is indeed sad that we may let it happen. We have yet to determine how to dispose of the spent fuel rods that are piling up .

We are confronted with the greatest challenge in the history of our species. We are facing near term human extinction as a result of runaway, abrupt climate change in the very near future.
If we had any dignity as a species we would decommission every Nuke plant on the planet before we leave. I don’t expect that to happen but it is the moral imperative.

Thanks for giving me a truer picture of how the nuclear industry operates and the dangers to which it exposes us all

Thank your for your research and critical information regarding nuclear power, which we receive none of from mainstream media. Also thank you to Sara Shannon for her 2014 edition of Radiation Protective Foods, full of excellent well-researched information on how to provide best protection from the onslaught of radiation now traveling around the world in what Dr. John Gofman referred to as “random murders”.

I just came from a Peace Activist gathering who are doing a walk to Oak Ridge Tennessee for the 70th anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki being bombed by nuclear weapons.
The Buddhist monk had such a sad heavy story to tell…his order is near the Fukushima meltdown, he’s Japaneses.

we’ll never be able to show Fairewinds Energy Education our appreciation for what you’re accomplishing in bringing out the truth about nuclear derived energy. THANKYOU!

    Hello everyone,

Thanks isn’t enough for the work you do to try & bring our little world back into the accord of how it was meant to be. I’ve been following the event at Fukushima Daiichi for a number of years, through internet sources such as “World Nuclear News”, “World Nuclear Association”, & “Enenews” to name but a few. Where Fairewinds really shines, is in it’s ability to not only reveal the facts in simple-English about this holocaust in Japan, but with news & up-dates about other nuclear industry disgraces, that make me ill to the core. How our governments can keep allowing this industry to operate without accountability for the ongoing pollution it creates & the deaths of the many lives it has taken, now, & in years to come, is a real tragedy, to a political system that was designed to keep its people safe, & have a freedom of speech. How can we believe our governments when even they have pipe-lines built pumping Nuclear waste straight into the English channel & Irish Sea & label it as “Land Storage”…And this is France & the U.K. that do this.

Keep up the great work, & I’ll help in anyway I can where possible ! I also believe that any Nuclear tragedy has such a deep resounding impact on everyone, that people remain too scared to acknowledge the truth, & would rather continue their day-to-day lives, hoping that it all was nothing but a whisper of a bad dream. We have to change this train-of-thought, along with corrupted government & media.

Keep up your honest hard work !!!

Dear Arny and staff of Fairewinds,

After the disaster in and around Fukushima I was very happy to receive valuable good information given by Fairewinds. After a while I have donated money to your organization since I understand that it cost a lot of money to do research and provide the information which the main stream media isn’t allowed to provide.

But all of a sudden… From over one year and on going until present any insight information about Fukushima is not provided and/or available any more. No new interviews, no lights shining over the “cleaning process”. No information about the progress of all what matters about the on going nuclear disaster. Apart from a few interviews of locals etc. etc.

Please give me any clarification about the reason to be so silent and in case you are not able to continue doing that what was so perfectly done, please be so kind where I can get the information from other sources.

    Much thanks and best regards,

    Willem van der Vloet

Australia should be banning exports of uranium; however, instead Prime Minister Abbott made arrangements to sell this demonic stuff to India, where they do not even have lavatories and a sewerage system. What sort of safety can we expect from reactors in India. I seem to remember that the ones they do have were known to have problems years ago.

I wonder if the new Japanese secrecy law is effectively suppressing dissemination of information about release and effects of radiation on the local population.

LOVE the website and the early coverage of this calamity.

I wish we had a chronology/list of isotopes to expect during each phase of a melt-through.
I bought GAMMA SPECTROMETER and S/W for it. But, even with a degree in physics, I need help reconstructing a melt-through from the nuclide output of the plant.

A robot just died inside the current reactor.
It seems that I cannot find any ongoing news, here, about the clean-up.
    Anyone know why ?

I mean the spewing radiation smacks of UN Agenda 21, not this website
  • commented 2015-03-12 23:10:04 -0400
this smacks of UN Agenda 21 to depopulate 90% of the world’s population and chip the remaining 500 million who have been conditioned to slavery in crammed soviet style cities

Washington State Senate is pushing to build modular nuclear reactors possibly at Hanford or in Idaho. NuScale Company of Corvallis OR and Fluor Corp. are involved and planning for 300 to 1000 mgwatt size and 4 states in NW involved. Sen. John McCoy opposes this. “Nuclear Roulette” book by Gar Smith looks well researched – afraid taxpayers may have to pay higher utility costs or costs of a disaster if nuclear is listed as an alternative energy.

I love and appreciate your efforts but I sense a lack of URGENCY and OUTRAGE given the desperate situation we face. The folks on the Titanic would have appreciated any help but surely not accompanied by milk toast & soft music. No disrespect intended.
